A new house

So this is a house that we put an offer on. We are moving!!!! -hopefully. My mom is driving me nuts and we are getting out. We will know by Tuesday if they took our offer. It is not my ideal experior style-but it will do, and the interior is halfway what i like. Ahh i am so excited about getting it. it is killing me to wait.

I'll let you know if we get it.

Also, I fell on the stairs on friday and hurt my knee. i am on crutches and knee brace for the weekend and i have an appointment with a PT on Tues. I am just hoping i did not tear it-surgery would not be good for this month. Chances are i will just have to do some excercises and wear the brace.

I miss you girls and love you lots.

88 and Sunny & My headache

so every morning I get the 3 day forecast texted to me on my phone. In Baltimore it would help me determine my plans for the day and what I would wear. Here in Cali every day has been 88-90 and Sunny. I can't complain you know because it is 88 and Sunny. Chuck gets the same text message and this morning he says "Our weather forecast here is pretty boring, I may cancel it" It made me laugh, because he said it like it was a problem. I guess it's a good problem to have.

My headache called my Apartment complex:

This morning at 3 am I get a phone call from our vehicle tracking system "Your car may be moving without your authorization, Please check on your vehicle" (Kiki you may need LoJack for your next bike) I ignore the automated voice and roll back over in bed. Chuck then asks who was that and once I tell him he proceeds to get dressed and go outside half asleep while I am still in dream mode. He comes back in saying our car is gone. Mind you -we just got the car from the transport company TWO days ago and now it's GONE?!??! He calls the police and we work with them and the LoJack tracking company for nearly 2 hours (in the middle of the night). They finally find our car in a tow yard. Luckily it was not stolen, just towed. I'm not sure that's any better.

Apparently they forgot to tell us whem we moved in that we needed a parking permit in our car to park on the property, so our car was towed. It was going to cost $255 to get our car back!!!I spent an hour and a half in the complex leasing office trying to figure out how to get the car back. In end the towing company cut their fee in half and hopefully the complex will reimburse me for the other half I paid as they suggested. We will see.

Kiki - sorry about your bike.

Petty Theft

Hi ladies! Sorry I haven't been writing much.. I'll be better. At work right now, the night is going by quickly due in part to two things: 1) I am precepting a new nurse, so everything takes longer by me having to explain each step, thus filling more time, leaving fewer hours for me watch as the clock creeps along to 7am. 2) last week someone (a night shifter no doubt) dowloaded iTunes and a great library of music to one of our computers. I've been subtly jamming out to The Beatles since 130am. Death Cab for Cutie is next, then David Gray. I think I just might make it till 7am.

So this weekend, after a year of bliss, our happy household bubble burst. (Well the 8 month roof leak kinda sucked too.) On Friday Ayesha's bike was stollen from our backyard(s) (Ayesha is a friend of Dev and I, who moved in next door and shares a backyard and about everything else with us) It appears MJ left the sallyport gate unlocked and open. Someone passing by noticed her bike, the open gate and took advantage of the situation. All while my two roommates are sitting on the other side of the wall watching marathons of Project Runway and The Hills, and my kitties are sitting in the wondow watching it all. I need dogs. Having ridden my bike to work that day, it was safely locked up in East Baltimore, under the watchful eyes of security guards.

Saturday night my luck came to an end as the suspected crimal struck again. This time cuting the padlock on the gate and riding off on my bike (Now I really want to know who is riding these bikes arround, both made for females under 5'5'', mine isn't even a full size adult bike!) Now Ay is freaked out and needs to find a boyfriend to move in with, because living on her own just isn't safe anymore.... and I'm stuck without my medium length means of transportation (to work, the gym, the grocery store, MJ's house)

on Saturday night (possibly while the bike heist was taking place) we were all at a party being thrown by our landlord. A guy possibly going through a mid life crisis and subsequent divorce by buying and building designer homes in Baltimore riding motorsysles and hanging out with girls in their twenties (not me or Ay - don't wory). He recently finished his most recent project and had a huge party to celebrate. Anytime you get invited to a $1 million house party with 200 other people - Go. The party was ok, most of the guests were older than us, and we didn't know anyone, the food was good, but not great, nothing you haven't had at every other party you've been to in the last year. But the house, georgous. Apparently our house was just a tester, a roughdraft. It has the same layout, same floating staircase with a window up the back, more granite, one more bedroom, two more bathrooms, a finished basement and a huge kitchen. The most interesting aspect of the house was it's lack of doors, besides the bathrooms, all the rooms are open. The bedrooms all have a bathroom in front (like mine) creating a little hallway before the actual bedroom. It wouldn't work with roommates but a cool idea.

Liz - sorry I've been missing your calls...

Made it to Cali

After our 9 day trip I am finally in Cali and in touch with the world again. We had such a fun time. I will be writing and posting pictures soon once we get settled in our house. We drove by our apartment last night. It's a gated community so we couldn't get too close, but it looked okay. I think I will go over today to see the inside. We are supposed to move in on Monday. There is a section of town called Old Towne Orange that is really cute. When we came off the freeway onto our street there was a sign <-Disneyland (left) and Angels Stadium(right) -> I will be close to some fun stuff. The Law school is close and really pretty. Driving around I got a little teary thinking "this is my new home" but by the end of the drive I was thinking "I could get used to this".

We are at Chuck's parents for the weekend. His mom is out of town right now but his sister Lani is here so it's been fun for Leland.

When I can write more I will tell you about our trip.
