Lost my voice

Sorry I haven’t called either of you back. I have lost my voice and it is difficult to talk. I sound like an old man. Other than that things are going well, just getting back into things after our long vacation. It’s actually pretty cold here (for CA) which stinks. On the news everyone is talking about LA in a “deep freeze” which means 50 degrees. Not really “freezing” temperatures but whatever.

Chuck’s mom for Christmas signed Leland and I up for a kids dance class that starts next week. I’m really excited to take her.

This past Sunday I was called as the 2nd counselor in the Primary. Yikes! I’ve never been in a presidency before; it will definitely be a learning experience.

Hopefully I will be able to talk soon and can talk on the phone.

Daybeds on sale

Yesterday my 54 year old patient told me he was not married, but he did have two grown daughters. No family has ever come to visit him but he does have two very pushy sister who call frequently. "I just talked to him, and he said he's throwing up, what are you doing about that!"

So I was quite surprised when an women showed up today with a twenty something girl and a young boy. The womne seems very concerend, tell me she is his wife and that she was unaware he was in the hospital. He was admitted here on December 29th! After visiting (or sitting in his room staring at him and becomming very nervous as he appeared to try to ignore them) for a few hours they went back home to Pennsylvania. I was very curious about what was going on so I asked some questions, apparently they are "seperated" We then had this exchange:

"It was really nice of your wife to visit you."
"No it wasn't, that woman doesn't care about anything but herself"
"Well she seemed very concerned about you when she was here, and she drove two hours to get here, that's not right down the street."
" Shoot, she'd drive to Atlanta to see a daybed on sale"
